Day 574 Thursday August 16, 2018 1,004 Days to Go
Oh well, another day another scandal, another outrage.
This time it’s revoking the security clearance of a former CIA Director.
In other news the first trial of Paul Manafort went to the jury. They start deliberating today. I wonder if it will take more than 15 minutes? The crimes are so blatant that the only thing I would think they could consider is is the idea that can this be real? There was a lawyer who was interviewed a few days ago that has tried over 100 cases of this type, and many in front of this judge. He said on a scale of 1 to 10 the greed part was a 13, the criminality a 12.
Some are speculating whether this is a set up for the closing in on Trump. Well, we’ve got one more trial to go on Manafort. While that is going on the noose is tightening around Roger Stone and his associates. It takes time to work up the food chain but Trump is worried. Why would he be worried? There was no collusion. He has nothing to hide. All he has to do is tell Bobby Mueller that and we can wrap this whole thing up. Right? Am I right?
Well, there are a few minor minor problems for the president. He’s lied. He admitted to crimes and there is evidence of treason. But other than that? He’s okay.
So let’s review the president’s accomplishments so far:
He met with North Korea. He got nothing and they are still making nukes and missiles.
He met with Putin and did everything but kiss Putin’s ring.
He agreed with Putin to halt South Korean war games.
He had a private meeting with Putin and no one from the U.S. knows what was discussed.
The economy is doing well if you are rich. If you are an average Joe, not so much. There’s been no real growth in wages. In fact, they’ve gone down.
As far as economic policy, he’s started trade wars with China, Turkey, Russia, Canada, Mexico, Japan, … for what result? It’s not clear, but it’s hurt U.S. businesses. Some businesses have left the country because of this.
As far as fiscal policy, he’s engineered a tax cut that helps the rich, which does not help the economy much, and he’s put the country a trillion dollars deeper in debt.
Personally, he’s cost the tax payers $72M in protection costs for him to play golf.
He’s imposed sanctions on Iran. Pulled out of the nuclear deal with Iran, and has nothing to show for either action.
He’s turned the VA over to three pals from his resort in Florida. They have no experience with such an organization.
By revoking the clearance of a former CIA Director he’s made our country weaker. John Brennan was the man who oversaw the attack on Osama bin Laden. Speaking of Osama his son married the daughter of the lead guy in the attack on the World Trade Center. He’s the #2 guy in Al Qaeda and has vowed revenge on the U.S. Runs in the family.
